The Central States Numismatic Society and Omaha Coin Club today
announced sponsorship of a numismatic seminar to be held October
30, 2009 at the Omaha Holiday Inn - Convention Center,72nd & Grover
in Omaha, Nebraska. This seminar is one in a series of educational
programs initiated by Central States in 2006 with the objective of
providing attendees with high interest presentations on a wide range
of numismatic topics.
The Omaha Seminar will begin at 8 A.M. with a continental breakfast.
Speakers, times and topics are:
9:00 A.M. to 10:30 A.M. - Chuck Daughtrey Copper Coin expert from Springfield, Missouri: "An Overview of the
Lincoln Cent"
10:30 A.M. to Noon - Jim McKee - Obsolete Nebraska
Banknote authority from Lincoln, Nebraska: "Nebraska's Wildcat Banks &: Banknotes"
Noon to 1 P.M. - Lunch
1 P.M. to 2:30 P.M. - Rick Snow, the Nation's top authority on Indian and Flying Eagle Cents from Tucson, Arizona "Counterfeit Indians"
2:30 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. - Cliff Mishler, retired Krause Publications executive & newly elected ANA President:
"The Standard Catalogue of World Coins - The Why and How of its
Development"
Registration for the Omaha Seminar is $10 for Central States members
and $20 for non-members. $10 of the $20 non-member registration fee
can be applied to a one-year Central States membership. Send name,

Following the Omaha Seminar, on Saturday and Sunday, October 31
& November 1, 2009, the Omaha Coin Club will be holding its 50th
anniversary coin show at the Holiday Inn - Convention Center. 2009 is
is the 75th anniversary of the Omaha Coin Club, the oldest numismatic
